I am grateful for my family and friends who have walked alongside me during this process. Yet, in those quiet moments (usually late at night or early in the morning) when I was all alone I’d wish for a book that could guide me. I wanted someone or something to tell me what to do, convince me I was going to be O.K., and show me how to change my life.

If that book exists, I didn’t find it (other than the Bible). But I did survive. And I muddied through. So, here are a few of the books I have found helpful in their own areas of expertise.

The Emotionally Destructive Marriage By Leslie Vernick

Boundaries By Dr. Henry Cloud & Dr. John Townsend

Total Money Makeover By Dave Ramsey

Made To Crave By Lysa TerKeurst

Splitting: Protecting Yourself While Divorcing Someone with Borderline or Narcissistic Personality Disorder By Bill Eddy & Randi Kreger
